LOUIS VUITTON CRUISE COLLECTION 2022 THE RUNWAY ON AX MAJEUR

For the presentation of the 2022 cruise collection, the Louis Vuitton's creative director Nicolas Ghesquière guides us inside one of the most impressive architectural works of the artist Dani Karavan: it is in the Ax Majeur of Cergy-Pontoise, a small town in the Parisian suburbs, that the two narratives – that of fashion and architecture – come together to give life to the primordial concept with which Karavan himself conceived the complex: utopia. Louis Vuitton steps into this singular geometry, from the “Ile Astronomique” to “Le Douze Colonnes” and “Le Jardin des Droits de l’Homme,” culminating in “La Passerelle,” opening as many imaginary portals to traverse the atmosphere and touch infinity. "An architecture of reconciliation, where water, light, wind, sand, concrete, stone, and steel create a felicitous relationship between nature, space, and time", explains the maison. The ones that do not go unnoticed in the entire architectural work inspired by the idea of utopia are obviously “Le Passerelle”. An optimistic company akin to luminous “marching bands” of joyful color. A collection of proud, positive looks that advance straight ahead, serenely. The clothes of the new Louis Vuitton Cruise 2022 show are characterized above all by the use of color: against a naturalistic background, which is also the result of an architectural work that has distributed and managed spaces, the Louis Vuitton short dresses impose themselves in the female wardrobe with determination and character. Balloon sleeves, zippers (synonymous with a utilitarian approach), peplum and gathers: every detail of Louis Vuitton clothes seems to have been carefully studied by Nicolas Ghesquière to perfectly contextualize in the famous Parisian architectural work. It is no coincidence that the French fashion house has defined the new collection as a set of “proud and positive looks that move forward with serenity”. In harmony with the mood of a rediscovered light-heartedness (summer, but not only), Nicolas Ghesquière takes us into the cruise atmosphere by expressing himself free and without constraints. Proof of this are the short and flared dresses, in which she boldly mixes colors and prints, and adding shiny elements.
