VILLA APERTA-GESAFFELSTEIN + BRODINSKI

Closing evening of Saturday, for the Villa Aperta festival in the beautiful setting of Villa Medici.
On stage: Gesaffelstein, Brodinski, Links and The Hacker.
 Mike Levy aka Gesaffelstein ended the evening with his dark and almost hardcore sounds, inspired by 90's techno. The electronic dark of the 14 tracks on the "Aleph" album were accompanied by an interesting visual part, beautiful lights and as usual, beautiful and stylish him.
 Same label (Bromance) and same stage for Brodinski which anticipated the Gesaffeilstein's live with his techno full of rap contamination.

Si è concluso con la serata di sabato, il festival Villa Aperta nella stupenda cornice di Villa Medici. Ad alternarsi sul palco Gesaffelstein, Brodinski, Links e The Hacker.
Mike Lévy aka Gesaffelstein ha chiuso meravigliosamente la serata con i suoi suoni dark quasi hardcore di ispirazione techno anni '90. L'elettronica cupa dei 14 brani dell'album Aleph sono stati accompagnati da una interessante parte visual, belle le luci e come al solito bello ed elegante lui.
Stessa etichetta (Bromance) e stesso palco anche per Brodinski che ha anticipato il live di Gesaffeilstein con la sua techno piena di contaminazioni rap.

EMPTYSET LIVE @ CHORDE

Last Friday- Chorde Festival, in a deconsecrated church, I went to listening Emptyset, minimal electro concert. Emptyset is a Bristol based production project formed in 2005 by James Ginzburg and Paul Purgas. Working across performance, installation and the moving image the project examines the physical properties of sound, through electromagnetism, architecture and process based image making.

Ieri sera a Villa Massimo, il suggestivo parco dell'ambasciata tedesca di Roma, si è tenuta la 5° edizione dell'Electric Campfire, il festival di musica elettronica organizzato dall'etichetta Raster-Noton nata nel 2007 con l'intento di fondere suono, arte, design e scienza. Guest star della godibilissima serata, una sorta di jam session dove si sono alternati DJ dell'etichetta e visual artist come Vladislav Delay e Empty Set, è stato l'artista e DJ Carsten Nicolai meglio noto come Alva Noto, borsista a Villa Massimo nel 2007 e fondatore della label. Dopo litri di birra gratuita generosamente offerta dall'accademia, l'evento si è concluso a mezzanotte e mezzo con parecchio disappunto dei DJ che avrebbero sicuramente continuato a suonare fino all'alba. Vi posto qua un piccolo estratto video della serata.

Yesterday evening I’ve been in the beautiful park of the German embassy in Rome, Villa Massimo, to the 5th edition of the Electric Campfire, the electronic music festival organized by the label Raster-Noton, founded in 2007 with the aim of merging sound, art, design and science. Guest star of the great evening, a sort of jam session where dj and visual artist from the label as Vladislav Delay and Empty Set were alternatively  playing, was the artist and  DJ Carsten Nicolai aka Alva Noto, fellow at Villa Massimo in 2007 and founder of the label. After liters of free beer generously offered by the embassy, the event ended at half past midnight and with a lot of disappointment of the DJ that surely would have continued to play until dawn. I post here a small excerpt of the evening.
