IRIS VAN HERPEN-SOMETHING NEW

Iris van Herpen studied Fashion Design at Artez Institute of the Arts Arnhem and interned at Alexander McQueen in London, and Claudy Jongstra in Amsterdam. In 2007, she started her own label. The garments are made with her own signature materials, fused with highly detailed craftsmanship and innovative techniques, such as 3D printing. Her style’s avant-garde spirit combines raw and technologically-produced materials. Her exceptional blends create a sculptured effect and have an astonishing visual impact. In this millennium finally something new!!!

Iris Van Herpen si è diplomata all' ArtEZ Institute of Arts nel 2006, il Groninger Museum le ha già dedicato una personale in cui si ripercorrono le sue creazioni dal 2008 ad oggi. Grazie alla formazione con Alexander McQueen, Claudy Jongstra e Viktor& Rolf, Iris van Herpen ha sviluppato un gusto quasi architettonico dell’abito, che è poi costruito con un delicato equilibrio tra artigianato e tecniche digitali 3D, infatti le sue creazioni dalle forme avveniristiche sono tutte rigorosamente fatte a mano, frutto di una costante ricerca sui materiali e sull’utilizzo di tecnologie insolite, come appunto la stampa 3D. In questo millennio di corsi e ricorsi..finalmente qualcosa di nuovo!!!
