WALKING WITH A FLUTTERING SKIRT

PLEATED

The pleated dress of Marilyn fluttering discovering the pants in the movie "The Seven Year Itch" has made the history of costume.
The pleats is a technique that has deep roots in the history of costume.
The most famous is the pleated soleil, that unmistakable fabric pleated narrow and regular stretching from the waistline until the hem's skirt.  Mariano Fortuny in 1909 was officially to patent the technique of pleats.  Over the years the evolution of style has given rise to different types of pleated, from the one that took the name of Madame Grés to latest by Issey Miyake. Roberto Capucci, was master of sculptural pleating.
