LATEST BURBERRY COLLECTION BY TISCI S/S 2023

After Burberry canceled its original presentation during London Fashion Week out of respect for the national mourning period that followed the death of the Queen, Tisci squeezed the show in on today between Milan and Paris. And it's his last collection as creative director after five years in Burberry. Burberry in fact appoints Daniel Lee as new chief creative officer, who until last year served as creative director for Italian luxury label Bottega Veneta, will join the heritage British brand from today.

 

BURBERRY F/W 2022-23

 Dopo due anni di presentazione virtuale, Riccardo Tisci ha presentato la sua collezione Burberry a Londra, alla Central Hall Westminster, proprio di fronte al Palazzo del Parlamento, sede della democrazia europea dove, per citare Shakespeare, "il caos è tornato". Ad accompagnare il fashion show un'esibizione dal vivo della London Contemporary Orchestra di Max Richter e Michael Nyman e delle voci di un coro di cento elementi. Enormi tavoli rotondi apparecchiati pronti ad accogliere gli ospiti per il “pranzo” alla moda.  Tra gli ospiti Naomi, Kate Moss, Carla Bruni, da Adam Drive, Jacob Elordi e Mahmood in passerella. Così sono uscite due collezioni: quella maschile e quella femminile. Per le donne una gamma di abiti da giorno trench e kilt fino a grandi abiti da ballo, passando per trench da sera decostruiti. Le modelle indossavano trench con piercing di anelli argento, maglie ricamate trompe l'oeil con strass, chemisier a pois plissettati. Cappotti in cotone cerato e giacche Harrington portati su body e gonne in pelle di agnello. Il design dell'Equestrian Knight e lo stemma della foglia di quercia sono rinnovati, con motivi d'archivio ricamati su una sovra-camicia imbottita in nylon, su una camicia a quadri e felpa in cotone e stampati sulle gonne. In testa, appare un cappellino da baseball ricostruito, aperto sul retro e con rinforzo di uno spesso cerchietto in pelle nera e marrone. Una collezione ispirata a Londra, la città natale del brand che ha più di 130 anni, a metà strada tra la sua essenza british i suoi trascorsi punk.

BURBERRY S/S 2022 - ANIMAL INSTINCT

Riccardo Tisci deconstructs the trench coat and dedicates the collection to his recently deceased mother. The spring summer 2022 Burberry collection, entitled Animal Instict, was presented with a digital fashion show through a video in which the models travel through metaphysical spaces. A few looks into the transfigured trench coats that opened the show—long at the front, cropped at the back—the camera panned around a model to reveal her naked derriere.The models worn droopy Bambi ears, for give to them the same emotional expression that animals convey through their ears. 

‘To me, this presentation really represents the freedom of our imaginations: how we dream to come alive', Tisci said.

I waited this Valentino collection with curiosity, I was eager to see if  Pierpaolo Piccioli would he fare even without  Maria Grazia Chiuri (meantime she had designed a beautiful collection for Dior),  the Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymous Bosh is the starting point for the designer,  it passing for different eras to land in a future purged of superfluous romanticism, but keeping the typical lightness of the brand that with elongated silhouette, with lace and chiffon it keeps to make us dreaming. I want to split the Givenchy collection in two parts: I like the beautiful chiffon evening dresses  with black background, colorful stripes and polka dots, less interesting the proposals for the day. Delicate pastel colors and  impalpable fabrics in the John Galliano collection; the Phoebe Philo's collection for Cèline has wide and oversized proportions, it's practical and contemporary. What do Cristobal Balenciaga would think about Demna Gvasalia's collection designed for the namesake brand? Dresses more suitable for the Vetements brand personality  rather than the essence of the brand created by the cutting master. A black ribbon is the "common thread" that binds the Roland Mouret collection, black ribbon around the neck or as suspenders, paired with skirts or dresses from the midi length.

 Attendevo questa collezione di Valentino con curiosità, ero desiderosa di vedere se anche senza la mano di Maria Grazia Chiuri (che nel frattempo ha disegnato una bellissima collezione per Dior), Pierpaolo Piccioli se la sarebbe cavata, il designer parte dal Giardino delle Delizie di Hieronymous Bosh, attraversando ere diverse per approdare in un futuro epurato da romanticismi superflui, ma mantenendo quella leggerezza tipica del brand che con silhouette allungate pizzi e chiffon continua a farci sognare. La collezione di Givenchy la divido in due: belli gli abiti da sera di chiffon con sfondo nero e righe e pois colorate, meno interessanti le proposte per il giorno. Delicati con colori pastello e tessuti impalpabili la collezione di John Galliano; silhouette dalle proporzioni ampie e oversize, pratica e contemporanea la collezione di Phoebe Philo per Cèline; cosa avrebbe pensato Cristobal Balenciaga della collezione che Demna Gvasalia ha progettato per il marchio omonimo? Abiti dalla personalità più vicino al brand Vetements piuttosto che all'essenza del marchio creato dal maestro del taglio. Un nastro nero è il "fil rouge" che lega la collezione di Roland Mouret, nastro nero al collo o come bretelle, abbinati a gonne o abiti dalla lunghezza midi.
