THE POLITICIAN: THE FAB STYLING OF GWYNETH PALTROW

When we are first introduced to Georgina aka Gwyneth Paltrow, she is wearing a green caftan and painting a picture. It's not the last time we see Georgina in an elegant outfit, but in all episodes of series, Gwyneth Paltrow wears wonderful dresses.Costume designer Claire Parkinson illustrates us with Georgina’s look, a character always dressed over-the-top, in an evening gown while she’s gardening, that dripping in expensive jewelry, always dressed inappropriately. Parkinson took inspiration from midcentury society photographer Slim Aarons's coverage of posh Palm Springs, cinematic political satires like "Election" and 1972's "The Candidate" and quintessential fashion houses: "'70s Halston" and "very much Gucci." Paltrow's longtime stylist Elizabeth Saltzman gave an assist with her industry connections to pull current-season pieces from Rodeo Drive-level high-end, design houses where Georgina would probably shop: Tom Ford and loads of Gucci.
Georgina wears a powder-pink and caped power pantsuit by Duro Olowu when she met her lawyers, or when Georgina ventures out of Santa Barbara, she wears a Valentino pre-fall 2018 cape-mini-trench emblazoned with a sketch of a tiger head. Ryan Murphy wanted her really eccentric, over the top, always dressed to the nines, even if she was … gardening or painting by poolside. We really love this opulent style!

THE GALAPAGOS COLLECTION SUNGLASSES

The Galapagos Collection sunglasses is inspired by the untamed flora and fauna of the Galápagos Islands. Every artistic detail is linked to the infamous features of this magical haven. One of the Galápagos Islands, Floreana, is famous for a green sand beach and is a nesting area for sea turtles. The color of the sand consists of green Olivine crystals (a raw form of Peridot that is formed by geological volcanic reactions and water). THE DISCREET CHARM OF A WHITE COLLAR

This simple detail has no time, a white collar gives a touch of class to a black dress. The reference to Pierrot’s maxi-collar in the 6o's Valentino dress is evident, while the historical references from which Alessandro Michele starts for Gucci recall the fashion of the fifteenth century. Heidi Slimane has a more discreet style, a small Pierrot collar makes Celine’s dress unique.

THE TOMBOY STYLE - FROM EARLY 900's UNTILL NOW

The gender-bending was broken almost a century ago, thanks to young and strong women like Coco Chanel and Marlene Dietrich. Since then many women start to wear men's clothes and we remember many past icons to date whose style is characterized by wearing men's clothes. From Jean Seaberg, Diane Keaton, Lauren Hutton to the recent looks of Cara Delavigne and Kristen Stewart. The idea that there are girl activities and clothing, and that there are boy activities and clothing, is often reinforced by the tomboy concept. Tomboyism can be seen as both refusing gender roles and traditional gender conventions, but also conforming to gender stereotypes. As for fashion, tomboy style never goes out of style, but there will always be a tomboy style that characterizes an era.

CHANEL CRUISE 2020-21

The Chanel first collection presented virtually. Forget the spectacular fashion shows at the Palais Royal during the Karl Lagerfeld direction, Virginie Viard is is much simpler and more discreet, and above all the show has been online because lockdown. Initially the collection has been scheduled to show in Capri on May 7. "Initially I had Capri in mind, where the show was supposed to take place, but didn't happen in the end because of lockdown. So we had to adapt: not only did we decide to use fabrics that we already had, but the collection, more generally, evolved towards a trip around the Mediterranean... The islands, the scent of the eucalyptus, the pink shades of the bougainvillea," explained designer Viard in a press release. The collection drew inspiration from legendary actresses of the 1960s, who nonchalantly took advantage of the Mediterranean sun with simple, light, chic and casual clothes, which, like long skirts that can also be worn as bustier dresses, were at times multi-functional.
 Too bad, it would have been nice to see these clothes presented in our beautiful Capri!
