Negli anni '20 gli abiti si accorciano, si scollano e le linee si fanno scivolate, i tessuti di seta sono illuminati da ricami e perline luccicanti, anche la moda viene influenzata dall'Art Decò, impazza il jazz e nuovi balli come il charleston e il foxtrot. Il make up prende spunto dalle dive del muto, si fa accentuato e brillante. I maggiori stilisti sono Jean Patou, Gabrielle Chanel, Jeanne Lanvin, le sorelle Callot. Nel 1929, con la caduta di Wall street, inizia la Grande Depressione, ed è anche la fine dell'Art Decò nella moda. Le siluette cambiano, si fanno più sottili, i tessuti meno preziosi e si preferiscono colori monocromi, si pongono così le basi per la moda degli anni '30.

The silhouette changed, it was tighter, fabrics becomes less expensive, dresses were made from monochrome color fabrics, and formed the base for the fashion of 1930's.
