LUIGI GHIRRI THINKING BY IMAGE

Sono stata al Maxxi a vedere una delle mostre più interessanti di questa stagione, quella dedicata a Luigi Ghirri: oltre 300 scatti, soprattutto vintage prints, in una grande antologica per raccontare questo grande intellettuale, maestro indiscusso della fotografia in Italia, nato a Scandiano nel 1943 e morto a prematuramente a Reggio Emilia nel 1992. La mostra si intitola “Luigi Ghirri. Pensare per immagini. Icone, paesaggi, architetture” e rimarrà al al Maxxi fino a ottobre. Le foto di Ghirri sono organizzate in tre sezioni tematiche (Icone, Paesaggi e Architetture) e ripercorrerono la fasi della sua ricerca artistica: le icone del quotidiano, i paesaggi come luoghi di attenzione e di affezione e le architetture, da quelle anonime a quelle d’autore. Ad accompagnare il tutto alcune frasi estratte dai libri che ha scritto che fanno capire quanto per il fotografo le sue foto fossero un mezzo per leggere e interpretare il mondo. Da vedere assolutamente!

I was at the Maxxi ( the museum of contemporary art in Rome) to see one of the most interesting exhibitions of this season, the one dedicated to Luigi Ghirri: over 300 shots, mostly vintage prints, in a large retrospective to discover this great intellectual, undisputed master of photography in Italy, born in Scandiano in 1943, and died prematurely in Reggio Emilia in 1992. The title of exhibition is "Luigi Ghirri. Think by images. Icons, landscapes, architecture "and will remain at the Maxxi until October. The pictures of Ghirri are organized into three thematic sections (Icons, Landscapes and Architectures) and retrace the phases of his artistic research: the icons of everyday life, landscapes as places of attention and affection and architectures, from the anonymous to those of 'author. A must to see!

MUSIC VIDEO OF THE DAY: NESSUNO - BAUSTELLE

Ecco Nessuno, il secondo video estratto da Fantasma, il nuovo album dei Baustelle uscito lo scorso 29 gennaio. Immagini da psyco thriller magico, protagoniste una bambina, Lucia Tamba, già volto della copertina dell'album, e il suo alter ego adulto, la  nostra splendida Elettra Mallaby che abbiamo già fotografato con i suoi capi super eccentrici nella nostra sezione street style (http://scostumista.blogspot.it/2013/05/roma-street-style-via-fontana.html)  e che, per inciso, anche nel video indossa  vesti ricamate strepitose. Tutto il video è la rappresentazione di un funerale magico, un funerale  alla giovinezza con una bambina che non è più una bambina, nel suo mondo di soldatini di plastica, marionette e processioni nel bosco. 

Below the second  music video excerpt from  Fantasma ( Ghost) the  new album of  Baustelle, one of the most interesting italian band,  released last January 29. Images from a magic psycho thriller , the stars a little girl, Lucia Tamba, former face of the album cover, and her adult alter ego, our beautiful Elettra Mallaby we have already photographed with her dresses super eccentric in our street style section (http://scostumista.blogspot.it/2013/05/roma-street-style-via-fontana.html)  she, also in this video,  wears  wonderful embroidered garments. The whole video is the representation of a funeral, a magic funeral to youth with a little girl who is no longer a child, in her world of plastic soldiers, puppets and processions in the woods.
