LONGCHAMP REMINDS ME OF YVES SAINT LAURENT

Is Sophie Delafontaine, the Coach 1941's creative director, was inspired by Yves Saint Laurent for this suede Safari dress? It reminds me of safari dress wore by Veruschka and by Betty Catroux in 1968. Yves Saint Laurent first introduced the safari jacket in his 1967 runway shows. He was inspired by both the uniforms worn by the Afrika Korps and, more broadly, the outfits worn by Occidental men in Africa. As early as 1969, the safari jacket was also available in a ready-to-wear version at the Saint Laurent rive gauche boutique. It was a big success, source of inspiration until today.

LOU LOU THE MUSE

A muse never dies. In the '70s Lou Lou de la Falaise was the muse of Yves Saint Laurent, with her polished and eccentric style, and now, after four years of her death, she continues to inspire fashion designers. So Olivier Rousteing , Balmain's young designer, for this winter collection he takes inspiration from Lou Lou De La Falaise. Bright colors with golden contrasts, lace, velvet and lurex are structured creating tapered silhouette made even more feminine with ruffles, fringes and layered of pleated.
