WHEN IT WAS JEAN CACHAREL

In 1962 Jean Bousquet, in Nîmes, founded the company Jean Cacharel. Cacharel is named after the local name of the garganey (Anas querquedula, a small duck) in the Camargue.
Jean Bousquet was the son of a sewing machine salesman; he was immersed in the world of clothes making since childhood. He trained to be a tailor at a technical college and worked for two years as a designer before returning to Paris to found his own fashion house in Le Marais. The success of his first collection inspired him to create Cacharel.
The first successful recognition thanks to the famous blouse made in a pink crepe photographed by Peter Knapp for the cover of Elle magazine. The iconic blouse. Once called "Le Cacharel", allowed the brand to enter the history of fashion for its emblematic design characteristic of the years 1960 and 1970. Cacharel designs are characteristic for their youthful style, femininity, lightness, refinement and use of bright colours. Over the years Cacharel had a tremendous impact on the fashion industry. They led the Liberty blouse boom into the 1970s. Cacharel designers have included legends like Agnès B, Azzedine Alaïa, Corinne Cobson, the Clements Ribeiro and more.

60's SHIRT WITH SMALL RUFFLES

During my research for vintage clothing and accessories, I usually find myself to ransack in the deeper corners of the drawers either on the top shelf, in the basement or in the garage, around shops and markets. This time it was so much simpler. This 60's flesh-pink silk shirt with small ruffles survived my mother's urge to throw all out, and it was there, motionless, for about 50 years, hanging in the my mom's closet.

MY SOUL SMELLS LIKE JASMINE

.. "there will come a day, say the sorcerers,  in which time, tortuous and devious, will end up being trapped   in this architecture of complaints   and we will be light, light ... "
