A YEAR OF BIZANTINA

My adoration for these bags is not a mystery. I've already written about the Bizantina bag a year ago after I saw it for the first time in Moscow in the elevator of the Metropol Hotel in the hands of its creator Benedetta Lignani Marchesani that has created the bags together with her daughter Caterina Mancinelli Scotti. This year Bizantina turns one and its aniversary is celbrated with a new colorful collection preserving all of its characteristics: the precious details such as the embroidered label with logo and number, the silver and brass clip in turtle shape taken from an old Ottoman design, the lining in silk and the silk velvet ikat weaved with antique looms of Bukhara (Uzbekistan). The Bizantinas can be found only in carefully selected niche shops like Josephine de Huertas in Rome's Via del Governo Vecchio.

La mia adorazione per queste borse non è un mistero. Ne ho già scritto un anno fa quando l' ho vista per la prima volta a Mosca nell'ascensore dell'Hotel Metropol stretta tra le mani della sua creatrice: Benedetta Lignani Marchesani, che insieme alla figlia Caterina Mancinelli Scotti ha ideato appunto la Bizantina Bag. La Bizantina compie un anno e festeggia con una nuova collezione coloratissima che mantiene intatte tutte le sue caratteristiche: le rifiniture preziose come l'etichetta ricamata con logo e numero, il fermaglio in argento e ottone a forma di tartaruga ripreso da un antico disegno ottomano, la fodera in seta e gli ikat di velluto in seta tessuti con antichi telai di Bukhara (Uzbekistan).
Si trovano solo in selezionatissimi negozi di nicchia, a roma da Josephine de Huertas in Via del Governo Vecchio.

THE BIZANTINA BAG IS BACK

I've already mentioned the Bizantina Bag (http://www.ladyblitz.it/moda/scostumista-bizantina-bag-istanbul-in-mano-1606850/), I also told you that these bags are made with a silk velvet Ikat woven with antique looms in Bukhara (Uzbekistan), that the patterns are different for each bag and that all bags have a label with embroidered logo and numbers are all sewn by hand in Italy. The brass and silver turtle/clasp is handmade in Istanbul and is taken from an old Ottoman design. I have also wrote that the bags are sold in Rome from "Josephine de Huertas" in Via del Governo Vecchio 68, but the first capsule collection was immediately sold out and for a while, for quite some time without the possibility of finding them. I have not told you, however, that last night I was at an housewarming where the new collection of Bizantina Bags were presented. So Byzantine's followers, yesterday the spring brought us a nice warm sun, the trees in bloom and many new colorful bags. Too good to miss!

Vi ho già parlato della Bizantina Bag (http://www.ladyblitz.it/moda/scostumista-bizantina-bag-istanbul-in-mano-1606850/), vi ho anche già detto che queste borse sono fatte con un
Ikat di velluto in seta tessuto con antichi telai di Bukhara (Uzbekistan), che i pattern sono diversi per ogni borsa e che tutte le borse hanno un etichetta ricamata con logo e numero, sono tutte cucite a mano in Italia. Il fermaglio in ottone e argento ha la forma di una tartaruga, è fatto a mano ad Istanbul ed è ripreso da un antico disegno ottomano.
Vi ho anche detto che le borse sono in vendita a Roma da “Josephine de Huertas” in Via del Governo Vecchio 68, ma la prima capsule collection è andata a ruba e siamo stati per un po' di tempo senza la possibilità di trovarle.
Non vi ho ancora detto però che ieri sera sono stata ad un housewarming dove hanno presentato la nuova collezione della Bizantina Bag. Quindi Bizantine's followers, ieri la primavera ci ha portato un bel sole caldo, gli alberi in fiore e tante nuove borse colorate. Da cogliere al volo!
