NEW DESIGNERS: MILLA BERILLO

Lyudmila Berillo is a russian fashion designer, she graduated from Central Saint Martins College and she founded the brand Milla Berillo in 2011. Lyudmila is following the existential minimalism, the concept where the clothing is considered exceptionally as an unique second skin of everyone. The pieces Milla Berillo embody the unity of inner and external, the oneofakindness, the extreme ergonomics. The brand doesn't multiply its garments and doesn't make the serial production on principle. Every single piece is elaborated by the Russian high-qualified craftsmen who are putting the positive energy on it. The Russian philosophy and the complex pattern making underlining the femininity are the crucial base of the brand. Milla Berillo studio is the space there the pieces are being born, but the finished ones are filling the room by the magic while waiting for their owners. Having entered you can feel this magic and completely lose yourself in the process of creating of living clothing. There is no border between the production and the sale.

Tra una serie di eccessi colorati e senza senso che non sto qui a riportare, si distingue con la sua purezza, la semplicità e i tagli ricercati la collezione di Chalayan. Quella di Mary Katrantzou è una collezione diversa dalle ultime, gli abiti non sono le sculture eteree a cui ci aveva abituato. Ispirata alla montagna tirolese con tanto di mantelline, colli di pelliccia e cuori applicati la collezione di Anya Hindmarch. Mix di stili (per fortuna) per gli studenti della Central Saint Martins. Gotico e dark, Gareth Pugh si è ispirato al Portiere di Notte della Cavani. Mescola tessuti e linee diverse J.W.Anderson. Belle le camicie di seta accollate con grossa piega davanti viste da Mulberry. La stilista Natasa Cagalj disegna una collezione impeccabile per Ports 1961, capi deostruiti, gonne e top asimmetrici, linee scivolate. Belli i cappotti militari versione super femminile con fiori rossi di Simone Rocha. Street-style sexy per le ragazze di Versus con minigonne e micropull all'ombelico.

NEW DESIGNERS:RICHARD MALONE

Richard Malone was born in Ireland and he graduated from Central Saint Martins BA Fashion Womenswear in 2014, where he was awarded the LVMH Grand Prix scholarship. His 12 look graduate collection opened the years BA Fashion press show and was succinctly awarded the Deutsche Bank Award for Fashion (previously won by Christopher Kane).
The collection stemmed from his own observation of working class Irish youths and the role of Irish stereotypes in the midst of the effects of the recession, which had severe effects on his hometown of Wexford (Ireland). The entire collection utilised unwanted and up-cycled fabrics with each look being draped, cut, sewn, embroidered and finished by Malone. It is this ethos of directionality and sustainability that informs his own contemporary womenswear label. Malones graduate collection has since been exhibited in Irelands leading luxury department store, Brown Thomas Dublin, part of the Selfridges group, and is available exclusively as made-to-order. Pieces from his collection have also been acquired by museums and collectors in both the UK and Ireland. Malones past experience includes working for Louis Vuitton in Paris and Giles Deacon in London.
He has also worked as a freelance print designer and illustrator and exhibited in the UK and Ireland, including the National Wool Museum of Wales. Malone’s collections have been celebrated by international press and featured in major print and online publications including LOVE, Dazed, Interview, AnOther, Vogue Italia, Vogue India, British Vogue, WWD, The Independent and the Irish Times. Recently, Malone was selected by the BBC as one of the Best Young Artists under 25 working in the UK, the only fashion designer in the selection.
 Soon after graduating Malone launched his eponymous line with an independent presentation for autumn/winter 2015. Richard Malone makes his return to CREATE this year with his new collection showcasing superb attention to cuts, 1980s asymmetry and fresh stripes.
Richard Malone will be one to watch.
