NEW DESIGNER:VAQAR

VAQAR is an Iranian brand founded in 2013 by the sisters Shiva and Shirin Vaghar, both born and raised in Tehran. The brand quickly rose to the spotlight after being successfully shortlisted for the LVMH prize in 2016. It is during this third edition in 2016 that young designers have seduced the jury of experts who has not remained indifferent by their minimalist vision of fashion inspired above all by their Iranian culture. While Shiva is a business graduate, Shirin studied visual arts and both are, considering the lack of suitable Fashion schools in Iran, self-taught in Fashion Design. All at once - structured, layered, flowing and voluminous - their clothing is paradoxical in nature and minimally opulent. They present a very contemporary style, with outfits that are a modern take on the traditional Iranian or Western look.

NEW DESIGNERS: BRAIN&BEAST

Brain&Beast was born in 2010 founded by Ángel Vilda. His collections reflect on games, riddles, hieroglyphics of apparent structural simplicity, that respond to complex geometrical equations in which color and materials form parts of codes where nothing is random. Brain&Beast proposes mixing garments which combine emotion and reason, with a very strong influence from contemporary culture without leaving out oodles of sophistication and a serious sense of humor. With the "Eclipse" collection he wins the 080 Barcelona Fest, a competition that rewards the Made in Spain new talents.
Eclipse closes a series of three, in which the designer has dived to the bottom of his own memory to clean up the sediment and transform the murky into crystalline. / Trilogy / (Playback, Vol. I / about helplessness; Labyrinth, Vol. II / on melancholy and loss) concludes as a cathartic experience that flows from darkness to light, opening up to an uncertain but calm future, after the storm.
